All About the Notary Public

The job requirements of a notary public can vary, but some duties remain consistent. A notary public, or public notary as it may be called, is a public officer granted by law to serve the public in non-confrontational matters. Non-confrontation matters can refer to any thing involving estates, deeds, powers-of-attorney, official government document, and business law. A notary public is legally unable to participate in any activity that falls under the category of law practice, unless, of course, they are a licensed attorney in addition to a public notary. -A notary public may be called upon to perform a variety of duties and assignments. Each day as a notary public may different from the last. A notary public will however be commonly called upon for certain tasks. -A public notary is often required to give oaths and affirmations, take affidavits and statutory declaration, and witness and authenticate certain types of legal documents, particularly contracts.
